Ultra Filteration Plants

Ultra Filtration (UF) Plants for STP / ETP

SOMA UTILITIES offers Ultra Filtration (UF) Plants designed for tertiary
treatment of treated water from Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) and
Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP). UF technology uses hollow fiber
membrane filtration to remove suspended solids, turbidity, bacteria,
and colloidal particles, producing high-quality clarified water suitable
for reuse applications.
UF systems are widely used where consistent water quality and low
turbidity are required before further treatment such as Reverse Osmosis
(RO) or for direct reuse in utilities.

Key Features

  • Advanced hollow fiber UF membrane technology
  • High removal of suspended solids & turbidity
  • Compact skid-mounted design
  • Fully / semi-automatic operation
  • Low chemical consumption
  • Consistent treated water quality
  • Ideal for recycling & reuse systems

Applications

  • Tertiary treatment for STP & ETP
  • Pre-treatment for RO systems
  • Industrial water recycling
  • Cooling tower make-up water
  • Gardening & utility reuse

Typical Treatment Scheme

A UF system is installed after secondary treatment and includes:

  • Treated water tank (STP/ETP)
  • Feed pump
  • Cartridge / screen filter (optional)
  • UF membrane modules
  • Automatic backwash system
  • Air scouring system
  • CIP (chemical cleaning system – optional)
  • UF treated water tank

Advantages of UF Systems

  • Excellent turbidity removal (<1 NTU)
  • Removes bacteria & microorganisms
  • Stable and consistent output
  • Protects & improves RO performance
  • Compact and space-saving
  • Low operating cost
  • Long membrane life
